My Journey from Legacy Roots to Rosin Heads

INTRODUCTION

When I transitioned my cannabis brand from the legacy market into the legal space, I wasn’t just launching a new venture — I was helping shape a cultural shift. I wanted to foster acceptance, elevate expectations, and bring true respect for the plant to consumers who deserved better.

Rosin Heads is the result of years of hard work, patience, and an unwavering commitment to craft. It represents my drive to create cannabis-infused chocolates that are as beautiful as they are delicious.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

To understand Rosin Heads, you have to understand where I came from.

My journey started in the mid-2010s, a time when medical cannabis patients had very few edible options — and most of them were disappointing. Bitter flavours, inconsistent dosing, questionable quality… if you needed medical edibles, you had no choice but to settle.

I couldn’t accept that. I wanted to do better.

In 2016, I launched Shattered Sweets, a small underground confectionery that quietly changed the edible landscape in Ontario. I spent countless hours creating high-quality shatter-based candies, chocolates, caramels, baked goods, and even chewing gum. What started as a mission quickly turned into an obsession — I fell deeply in love with chocolate.

As the line grew, I rebranded myself as The Canna Chocolatier, licensing Shattered Sweets to a U.S. operator so I could dedicate myself entirely to mastering the craft. I developed more than 50 artisanal infused chocolates and earned recognition as “the best infused chocolatier in Canadian cannabis” from HIGH Canada Magazine.

Stepping Into the Legal Market

When edibles legalization approached in 2019, I decided to bring my legacy expertise into the regulated market. I spent several years working across Product Development, R&D;, and Category Management to understand the nuances of retail, consumers, and compliance.

But the pull of perfectly tempered chocolate was too strong to ignore.

Within a year of returning to my craft full-time, Rosin Heads came to life — a true legacy-to-legal brand built with intention, precision, and respect for the plant. My goal has always been simple: create full-spectrum, extract-based gourmet chocolates that taste incredible, honour the plant, and offer an elevated edible experience worth coming back to.

Packaging With Purpose
When you work with chocolate at this level, every detail matters — including the packaging. Each Rosin Heads chocolate is hand-placed in a paper liner, gently set into a pop-top container, and sealed inside a right-sized pouch. These layers protect the chocolate’s shine, shape, and integrity so it arrives exactly as I intended.

Every piece is embossed with a protective hamsa symbol and positioned by hand to ensure the presentation is as flawless as the flavour. I believe indulgence is a full sensory experience — sight, smell, taste, and touch — and I design every step of the process with that in mind.
A CRAFT ELEVATED

"After years of working behind the scenes, it feels incredible to bring the consistency, quality, and decadence of my chocolates into the regulated Canadian market. Rosin Heads is my contribution to normalizing cannabis, elevating edibles, and giving people a moment of luxury with every bite."
